Compared to steel strapping, its lack of sharp edges prevents damage to packaged goods, while its flexibility allows it to conform to irregular surfaces. From a lifecycle cost perspective, although the unit price is slightly higher than PP strapping, its reusability and low annual loss rate (average loss <2%) reduce overall costs by approximately 15%-20%. Environmentally friendly, discarded straps can be physically recycled into PET pellets, complying with EU RoHS regulations and China's "dual carbon" policy.

The industry is currently evolving towards lightweighting and intelligent strapping. Some manufacturers have developed smart strapping with built-in sensors that monitor strapping tension in real time. Breakthroughs in bio-based polyester materials also hold promise for addressing reliance on petrochemical raw materials. However, the creep resistance of polyester strapping in extremely humid environments still needs to be optimized, and awareness of cost-effective products among small and medium-sized enterprises needs to be enhanced. With the increasing adoption of molded joint technology and automated strapping equipment, the market penetration of polyester strapping is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 6%-8%.
